Patron Daedalus have announced that local civil engineering firm Blanchard Wells are investing in the first phase of the 42-acre Daedalus Waterfront redevelopment to self-deliver a new state-of-the-art Technology Centre and Construction Hub by early 2027.

This investment will create 200 new jobs, including apprenticeships at the Civil Engineering Training Centre (CETC) that is also located on the Solent Enterprise Zone at Daedalus. This award-winning training facility was established in 2017 by a partnership of 16 local civil engineering, groundworks and construction companies led by Blanchard Wells.
The Technology Centre will be dedicated to manufacturing precast lift cores, stairs, and columns using reduced carbon concrete. The Construction Hub will bring together Blanchard Wells professional teams with local design and construction specialists. An associated network will also be established and led by Blanchard Wells to support local start-ups.
